Immigration Reform Update

UPDATE: April 2013

Lawmakers have a plan that would provide a new class of worker visas for low-skilled workers, secure the border, crack down on employers, improve legal immigration and create a 13-year pathway to citizenship for the millions of illegal immigrants already here. The current timetable appears to introduce an immigration reform bill this month and then the bill emerging from the House and Senate around Thanksgiving. This may seem like a long time for those not versed in the ways of Capitol Hill, however this is actually lightning speed. It’s quite unusual for legislation to be introduced and passed in the same calendar year.
